Financial Literacy

According to a recent survey conducted by a credit rating agency, only 57% of U.S. adults are financially literate.

The Young Excellent Scholars or Y.E.S. Academy is a learning institution on a mission to educate, empower, and engage students, helping them learn finically literacy. The goal is to help students excel inside the classroom and beyond giving them every opportunity to find financial freedom. 

Established in 2018, the Y.E.S. Academy is a financial empowerment center that works with talented educators committed to using evidence-based strategies to teach the skills needed to prosper. Our educators ensure they have the latest financial literacy knowledge to help students learn basic to more advanced skills through clear and actionable lessons. 

We encourage self-learning, providing students with financial management skills that help them develop a solid financial plan and make choices that lead to economic success. Working closely with National Financial Institutions, our teachings align with the latest financial literacy standards. 

Our prosperity team is passionate about our work, bringing enthusiasm to every student and every lesson. The Y.E.S. Academy offers fundamental courses for young people and a financial empowerment program for adults where they gain access to wealth-building and management skills. We do this because we know financial literacy for underprivileged communities benefits not only the individual but their family and society as a whole.  

We offer additional services that build financial literacy for low-income families, such as group meetings, 1-1 sessions, classes, and workshops for young people and adults. The volunteers and educators of Y.E.S. Academy work tirelessly to provide free Book Clubs for children and adults, along with free lessons via zoom or in person at the Lotus Women's Shelter.
